Gregoire Sits and Wins

June 13, 2023 @ 12:21 PM

The action started with Charles Glover opening to 1,600 from early position, action folded to Damien Gregoire who threw in two orange 5,000 chips stating "1,800", unaware that Glover had opened the action. The dealer informed players that this was just a call of Glover's original bet before the action continued to the blinds, of which only the small blind called.

The flop came and the small blind checked, as did Glover, only for Gregoire to bet out 4,000. Both players folded quickly and Gregoire, who has only just joined the field, is chipping up nicely early on.

Also in the field is Chad Miller who is currently sitting next to his wife Lauren at Table 42. Chad is already into Day 2 with 1,300,000 chips, sitting second overall, but is back today to try and find a second bag and that additional $1,500 payout.

Bar Poker Open

Welcome back for Day 1b of the 2023 Bar Poker Open Championship at the Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas.

A total of 666 players fired in yesterday's two flights and 34 players found a bag, in what is shaping up to be the largest Bar Poker Open Championship event on record. Today's flight will see a blend of new hopefuls, fallen players from yesterday's flights and an array of players already in Day 2, as they look to carry a second stack through and claim an additional $1,500 in their pocket.

The chip stack to beat is Anthony Lundy, from New York Street Poker, who bagged 1,655,000 after eliminating Raymond Lizzol to burst the Day 1 bubble. Other notable stacks include Chad Miller (1,300,000) and Marvin Coom (1, 050,000).

Anthony Lundy Bags Big in Day 1a of the Bar Poker Open

June 13, 2023 @ 12:25 AM

Anthony Lundy

Some 522 Bar Poker Open stalwarts graced the halls of the Golden Nugget Casino in the most highly anticipated event on the Bar Poker Open calendar, including defending champion Thomas Nefcy and the ever entertaining Ian Auvil.

Nefcy will have to fire a bullet in Day 1b if he wants to have a shot at successfully defending his title. However, last year's runner-up, Kourtney Sims, is still in with a chance of making back-to-back final tables as she bagged up 185,000 chips after 19 levels of poker.

Also bagging chips for Day 2, which takes place on June 13, is the fedora-donning regular William Fierro (415,000), Sunshine Poker League's Billy Ducheneaux (430,000) and Marvin Coom (1,050,000), who catapulted up the chip counts late in the day when he busted Jeffrey Weinberg to be the first player over one million chips. A notable mention for Will Unruh (5,000), who held tight during the bubble and managed to sneak into Day 2 with one-fifth of an ante to his name.
