An exciting week at the Bar Poker Open will reach its conclusion today, as the final eight contenders return to battle for the 2026 BPO Vegas World Championship title.

The field of 1,032 entries, full of online and live qualifiers and invitees, has been narrowed down to one last table, with the top prize of $100,000 and coveted BPO trophy set to be awarded at Golden Nugget Las Vegas for the tenth time.

The tournament amassed a total prize pool of $345,720, and the largest prizes will be handed out when final table action begins at 12 p.m. local time.

The leaderboard is headlined by two players returning with 50 big blinds, as Peter Cote (7,675,000) of the Eastern Poker Tour and New York Free Poker's Robert Carswell (7,550,000) sit well ahead of the rest of the table.

Next in the chip counts is Gorav Sangal (4,225,000) of KOntenders Poker USA, as a total of four Bar Poker leagues are represented among the remaining players.

No Limit Pub Poker Tour leads the way with three challengers still in play, but all will be returning among the shorter stacks. Germain Mingo (1,475,000), Day 1a2 chip leader Henry Hearns (950,000) and Day 1a1 pace-setter Ian Auvil (1,425,000) will be seated together, looking to navigate their way up the leaderboard. Auvil will be seeking a second major BPO title after claiming victory in the 2023 Bar Poker Open Florida World Championship $365 Main Event.

The second Eastern Poker Tour finalist is Maria Piaseczny (1,525,000), sitting in fourth spot but among the group returning with ten big blinds or less. Frank Johnson (1,425,000) is also part of that quintet, the second player from KOntenders Poker USA still in the hunt to claim the BPO trophy.

Action was fast and furious at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas, as 54 hopefuls returned to the felt looking to make a run at the Bar Poker Open 2026 Vegas World Championship final table.

By the end of the first three levels of the day, the field had already been trimmed in half. From there, two players began to take control of their tables to secure big stacks for the final day. Six more levels were needed to reveal the final table participants, all in the running for the $100,000 first-place prize.

Leading the way among the remaining eight players is Peter Cote, who bagged up 7,675,000 to give the Eastern Poker Tour the top spot entering Day 3.

Not far behind is Robert Carswell of New York Free Poker, sitting just one big blind back at 7,550,000. Carswell won a pivotal hand with pocket jacks to knock out a pair of opponents on the final level of the night.

The next spot on the leaderboard is occupied by Gorav Sangal of KOntenders Poker USA, sitting with a healthy 4,225,000 to round out the top three.

As the field thinned out on Day 2, No Limit Pub Poker began to dominate the final few tables. The New York and Florida leagues had 12 of the final 30 seats, finishing with a trio advancing to the last day of action. Germain Mingo (1,475,000), Ian Auvil (1,425,000) and Henry Hearns (950,000) will all return to a seat at the final table.

The final entrant of the event was Chris Haer, who won direct entry into Day 2 but was unable to build any momentum.

Another notable name in the field was Elizabeth Rice, the last Australian qualifier standing who eventually bowed out in 22nd place.

The day also featured some big hands, including Maria Piaseczny (1,525,000) tripling up with pocket queens.

Day 1a1 chip leader Auvil received a seven-hand penalty midway through the day, but returned to action just in time to double his stack from the small blind.

Fellow No Limit player Hearns hit the biggest river of the day, as he made quads to beat John Wolfson's straight to vault up the leaderboard.

The final hand of the night saw Roxanne LoGrande watch Cote make a full house, ending a rapid fire day as the final table was set.
