After an under-the-gun limp and a late position limp, MJ Olsavsky made it 4,000 to go in the hijack. The big blind called, as did the under-the-gun player and late position folded.

The trio checked it down to the river on a board that ran out and Olsavsky tabled for a full house, eights full of tens.

"Holy macaroni, I can't believe it," said Olsavsky as both of her opponents mucked and the pot was pushed her way.

With 3,000 in the middle, action went check-check, bringing the turn where both players checked again.

Fireworks went off on the river where the under-the-gun player led out with a bet of 1,900 and Dure bumped it up to 5,000.

Bar Poker Open Gets Underway at the Golden Nugget

The 2025 Bar Poker Open Vegas World Championship returns to the Golden Nugget for the 10th year in a row, with flight 1a1 kicking off at 10:00 a.m. local time. The $365 buy-in event features players from leagues all around the country that earned their seat by competing both live and online for an exclusive invite.

The tournament has an anticipated prize pool of $400,000+ with a $100,000 guaranteed first place prize going to the winner. Last year's champion was Miguel Medrano of New York who took home the title and his first six-figure score. He defeated Patrick Martorella heads-up, who belonged to the same league - New York Free Poker.

The Championship begins today and features two Day 1 flights at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. local time, each capped at 500 entries. Players may enter both flights, but can only bag chips once. Those who qualify from both flights take their best stack forward to Day 2 and earn a $1,500 bonus.

A "Second Chance" flight runs on Tuesday, June 10 at 11 a.m., but is only available to players who participated in one of today's flights. Like Day 1A,10% of each flight will reach the money with a minimum cash of $500. Day 1 will end when the field reaches 5% rounded up.

Day 2 plays out on Wednesday, June 11 at 11 a.m., followed by the televised final table on Thursday, June 12 at 2 p.m.

  • Players will receive 25,000 in tournament chips.
  • Levels will be 30-minutes on Day 1, and 45-minutes on Day 2 onward.
  • Day 1a Flight 1 and Flight 2 buy-in is $365.
  • Day 1b buy-in is $365.
  • On-Site registration is available until the start of Level 11.
  • Alternates and late sign-ups will enter the tournament with a full chip stack and no obligation from it.
  • The starting blind level on Day 2 will be the lower of the final levels from all Day 1 flights.
  • Day 2 will play 8-handed. Redraw at end of Day 1 and at 24 and 9 players, or at the Tournament Director's discretion.
  • Bar Poker Open will be funding any added money into the prize pool and all "Seat Winners" "Buy-In" portion.
