Rodriguez Flops a Straight

Action was picked up in a three-way pot with Joseph Rodriguez in the small blind.

Rodriguez bet 3,500 on the flop reading and the player in late position raised to 9,000, which only Rodriguez called.

On the turn , Rodriguez checked over to his opponent who moved all in for 16,000 and Rodriguez called.

Second Flight of Bar Poker Open to get Underway at 4 PM

Bar Poker Open

The annual 2024 $365 Bar Poker Open Championship began today at 10 a.m. with Flight 1a1 and Flight 1a2 starts at 4 p.m., which has most of the same information as Day 1a1. This exclusive, invite-only event will see players in leagues from all around the country make their way to The Golden Nugget in Las Vegas with dreams of becoming the new Bar Poker Open Champion. This will be the ninth summer that it is held at this location. A first place prize of $100,000 is guaranteed with the total payout purse landing somewhere around $400,000. Only players who have qualified through their local leagues will be able to play this event.

Last year, Edward Holt ended up coming out as the victor, beating Ryan Surdi heads up. Holt collected $80,000 for his first-place efforts.

All entries will start with 25,000 in tournament chips and levels will be 30-minutes each on Day 1 and will increase to 45-minutes on Day 2 and the final day. There will be a 15-minute break after every four levels and each Day 1 will play down to 5 percent of the field.

The second flight of action will begin at 4 p.m Vegas time. There is also a second chance flight that takes off at 11 a.m, on Tuesday June 11th, in which unsuccessful hopefuls can try again at making Day 2 and those that have already bagged a Day 2 stack have the opportunity to try their luck again and aim to bag even more tournament chips.

Any player that successfully bags chips twice will take their largest stack forward and will receive $1,500 for their efforts.

  • Players will receive 25,000 in tournament chips.
  • Levels will be 30-minutes on Day 1, and 45-minutes on Day 2 onward.
  • Day 1a Flight 1 and Flight 2 buy-in is $365.
  • Day 1b buy-in is $365.
  • On-Site registration is available until the start of Level 11.
  • If a player entered any starting day and has been eliminated they may register for the subsequent starting day. Players may also bag and play a subsequent flight.
  • Alternates and late sign-ups will enter the tournament with a full chip stack and no obligation from it.
  • 10% of each flight will reach the money with a minimum cash of $500
  • Day 1 will end when the field reaches 5 percent rounded up. Day 2 will play until the final table is reached.
  • Players that bag in any Day 1 flight may play a second chance flight and will take the highest chip stack forward. Lowest will be forfeited and player will receive $1,500 for their second bag.
  • The starting blind level on Day 2 will be the lower of the final levels from all Day 1 flights.
  • Day 2 will play 8-handed. Redraw at end of Day 1 and at 24 and 9 players, or at the Tournament Director's discretion.
  • Bar Poker Open will be funding any added money into the prize pool and all "Seat Winners" "Buy-In" portion.

A player called in first position, which saw action fold around to late position where another player moved all in for 5,400. Richard Wadleigh called in the hijack and another player called from the big blind.

The board ran out and the big blind checked over to Wadleigh, who bet 10,000 and his opponent folded.

The flop came out and action checked over to Renaud, who bet 1,200, which only the late and middle position players called.

On the turn , action checked over to Renaud, who bet 1,500, and both players called, leaving action to check around on the river.

Renaud showed for a pair of jacks and it was good for him to take the pot and add to his growing stack.
