On a completed board with over 30,000 in the middle Pat Aguiar was seen collecting a full double-up of 57,500 and his opponent had already mucked his hand. Aguiar had his tabled, making two pair as the dealer pushed him the pot.

27 players will make the min-cash of $500 and when 11 players remain, they will bag up for Day 2 to combine with the 26 players that bagged in the first flight.

After just shy of 10 hours of play, only 26 players of the 531 remain in Day 1a. The 531 players created a prize pool of $98,235 to be added with the following flights.
All 26 have made the money and are allowed to try for another bag tomorrow. If they bag again they will surrender the shortest stack and receive $1,500.

On a flop of , all the chips went into the middle and Lester Cates was at risk against Adam Iaccarino.
Cates had flopped a pair of fives and an open-ended straight draw but ran into the flopped straight of Iaccarino, showing .
Cates was unable to catch up as the board completed with the on the turn and the on the river. With his elimination, only 27 players remain and are currently bagging for Day 2.

Carlous Collins raised under the gun to 75,000, Glen Brink called from a couple of spots to his left before Nancy Peterman jammed for her whole stack of 195,000. Collins tossed in one chip to signal a call and after a few moments Brink announced he was all-in for 505,000. Collins asked for a count and eventually tossed his hand into the muck.
